After recent high profile, multi-million dollar fraud and incompetency scandals, strict new regulatory guidelines now govern the finance industry, both locally and internationally. The guidelines have resulted in a dramatic increase in the demand for qualified, accredited financial advisers; the Financial Advising industry is now one of the fastest growing sectors of the service economy.
The Bachelor of Financial Advising is an innovative and multi-discipline degree designed to meet the current dramatic growth in an industry requiring in-depth understanding of accounting, taxation, financial planning and superannuation. The new regulatory framework, administered by the Australian Serurity Commission (ASIC), now requires expertise in all these areas to ensure consumers receive intergrated and holistic financial advice.
Unique in Australia, the Financial Advising degree gives you in-depth knowledge in the legislation, policies, personal attributes and principals of providing financial advice to businesses and individuals. It provides a pathway to a range of careers in providing financial advice, with emphasis on the development of technical and personal skills (such as communication and problem solving skills) necessary to provide sound financial advice to all members of the community.
