The Diploma in Commmunity and Social Development, offered at Penrith, is designed as an entry level qualification for Indigenous students interested in university study and wanting to try a shorter course to begin with. The Diploma provides support in developing academic skills as a foundation for university study. In addition the Diploma provides introductory content for the social sciences and other areas of study. Thus the Diploma can be seen as a pathway to other degrees at UWS; or a qualification to enhance employment opportunities in the community sector.
